There are many ways you can do this, but I personally like to paint with spray cans. They are simple to use and you can create some nice effects with them. The materials you will need for this type of project are:

1. A couple of cans of spray paint (combining colors, try to have a couple of light and very dark colors; I usually use black and fluorescent)
2. Painting tape
3. Cardboard
4. Ketchup or Dishwashing soap

First of all you need to design what you want to do; draw some things, combine and see what you like. Test the colors on the cardboard so you can be sure how they will look. When you have an idea clean the area you want to paint as best as you can and let it dry.

You can start with the tape to give a nice basic design, or you can go crazy. The purpose is to later paint over were the tape is pasted and when you get it off it will look very cool. Then you can draw anything you want on the cardboard and cut it off so you can use it as a stencil; and example can be stars, letters, anything. If you want to use the ketchup technique you have let everything dry then have fun spilling the ketchup everywhere, try to do something different and unique. Paint over the ketchup on the board let it dry and later lightly clean off with water.

I usually try to use the light  colors for most of the areas and the black for a smaller margin closer to the details. But it is your paint do what you want but do it right.

All of the existing landfills only have a few more years of life.  And even if we had many long life landfills all over Puerto Rico, which is not the case, this still should be done. Why do we have dispose trash and not do anything with it? Let’s take advantage of this never-ending unlimited supply.

There are various solutions that can be planned for example more recycling and a waste-to-energy project to dispose all of the metropolitan area garbage and use it to generate energy which will not only solve this problem but will also prevent contamination from our waste, petroleum power plants and provide an alternate energy source which is much needed. There will always be garbage, we can use it; instead of recognizing it as waste it can benefit our lives and future generations.

Most of the energy we use is irreplaceable and it creates pollution. This will affect our planet besides us, thus creating global warming which slowly affects our way of living. Fossil fuels should be replaced for non-contaminating, renewable energy sources. Renewable energy development will create new jobs for people; it will save money and better the economy. Renewable energy sources are more affordable today than years ago, people will be able to use energy at a cheap price; and there will never be a crisis of a needed energy source.

Another thing I have gained is that I am always conscious of the weather, what is happening in the moment around the island and the status of the waves. Being connected with nature has made me learn very much about it and made me know how it works. I have also learned a lot about other countries and places around the world.

Being a surfer has made me find out many things about myself. Since I am always concentrated on my performance, I have learned more about how my body works and what I should and should not do to it, to be in the highest level of performance possible. I take more care of myself and I am very focused on my health.

I have also found out that this sport has made me a more grateful person about everything. I am more grateful to God, also grateful for everything I have and I take more care of each thing and I am also grateful to nature. I have always been and always will be a protector of nature.

In stand-up comedy I like to watch Katt Williams, I think he is extremely funny. He has a way of just being himself and be funny without trying too hard, because you can laugh by just by looking at him; he is a black, very short man with a perm on his hair. He chooses very simple everyday topics to talk about but when he expresses himself he hits the  spot right at where you were thinking about. It is very difficult to explain you have to see it by yourself to understand me.

Another comedian that does nice stand-ups is Dave Chappelle, everybody knows about him though. I think I don’t have to explain why Dave is funny it is just because he really is, that’s it. He is a very good actor and I think he does very good imitations; extremely talented.

There are some movies that are very funny but there are ones that are just classical. One of my favorite movies of all time is “Old School”, this movies is hilarious. One of the things that make this movie so great is one of my favorite actors of all, Will Farrell. This guy just has a way to be so stupid in movies that make them very cool; I truly like his style. I really like to watch his movies, he does the same role in almost every movie but it is just that that makes them so funny.

I strongly recommend comedy to everyone.

Most of the world doesn’t like the X-men mutants and they are treated as something different, not human. Some people think they should be exterminated or separated from normal humans. Most of these things happen because people fear mutants and they don’t see them as equals, they feel vulnerable to their amazing powers.

The leader of the X-men is Prof. Charles a genius mutant that founded a mutant academy to train youngsters on how to control and use their powers. It is also a school where these children can feel at home with other humans just like them. One of the objectives of this academy is to teach mutants how to protect themselves and the world besides being hated by most.

The mutants in this story can be seen as the minorities in real life. They suffer from similar conflicts that have happened throughout history. They are treated as outsiders, just because they have special powers, they should not be treated this way if something they are superior. It reasonable to be intimidated or scared, but if they show no harm they should be accepted. The same with minorities, there is no reason to why they should be minorities; all human beings should be a whole one big group of equals.

There is this one special place, that when all the right elements get together, it is just very incredible. It is an outer reef called Sarapa and it lies right in the middle of nowhere inside a little neighborhood. Sarapa is a very special place for me, it has delivered me a lot of good times in my life, it can get extremely fun.

To get to where the waves are you have to swim like 10-15 minutes, most people get tired halfway; me I just go as fast as I can the whole way. When there are no winds and the correct westerly swell hits the reef, Sarapa starts doing its thing, it is a very long left with a nice hollow tube section at the beginning called the “doble-escalon” and the good inside section. We are always looking for that “doble-escalon” because it delivers the best quality waves. But not all the waves do it, just a couple do it correctly; and when you are lucky in the right position you can get a very nice barrel, difficult to forget.

I am one that can say that got the best barrel of his life right there, in a wave that had just the most perfect “doble-escalon” ever; I probably got barreled for like 5 seconds and that’s a long barrel.

My apartment, well I live on the eighth floor right on the corner of the building. When you enter there not that much, just simple practical things. I like to keep it simple so it can be easy to clean and to avoid messes. The structure of the apartment is very old, cracks everywhere, old paint, old doors, the windows are not in a decent state, there are a couple of leaks her and there, the counter of the kitchen is tilted, the faucet is a bit crazy and the bathroom is not fit for a lady. It’s pretty funny when you enter and see all these because it may have all these negative aspects but the apartment still gives you this positive vibe. This is not just me, it happens with everybody; there’s always someone here, people like to be here. There is also no AC, but a nice breeze enters every night that makes you cold.

I am from Guaynabo and I am not used to be living like this, but living in this apartment has changed me a bit, positively. I think being here has given me another point of things, it has showed me a different lifestyle. Besides everything I really like and appreciate living here because it could be old and funny; but the apartment lies in just the perfect position to give you the most amazing view, especially from my room. However in every window and balcony the apartment has you can enjoy a very beautiful site of the ocean and the mountains.

It is the combination of all these things together that make this place a good home, and I am very proud to call it that.

When you get to where the trailer is at back up your vehicle and try to get the tow very near to the trailer, almost touching it. Take the time to attach the trailer to the tow properly, and make sure that the ball is properly engaged and locked in.  Attach two safety chains from the trailer to the tow and cross them and a heavy-duty strap on the back of the boat with the trailer. Make sure the electrical connections to the lights and brakes are operating. And that you have all the safety requirements like life jackets, flares, flare gun, fire extinguisher and the horn. Also assure yourself that the radio is in perfect conditions.

Tie down the bow of the boat and the trailer post with a safety rope, so that a sudden movement won’t force the boat to slide off the back of the trailer. And make sure you keep your trailer tires and your tow vehicle tires properly inflated. Inspect the trailer bearings and grease them as needed. Make sure everything is hooked up properly, locked, strapped down, secure and, if your trailer has a spare tire, make sure it’s fully inflated.

While driving with the trailer you have to go at half the speed when compared to driving without a trailer. When you turn, go much slower. When you accelerate, do it much easier. When you brake, make sure there is more space to stop. Your vehicle and trailer are much less maneuverable than your vehicle without it and it’s important that you always compensate for the added length the trailer adds when you change lanes.

When you get to the launch ramp, take your time getting the boat squared away before launching. Take off all the straps and untie everything when you’re about to launch it. And take some time to make sure all your boating safety equipment is ready; this will give your wheels and bearings a chance to cool down.

Always stay in your car while you launch your boat, back up the vehicle while two people are waiting out of the car to push the boat out of the trailer. Get the trailer like in one and a half feet of water and give the signal to push. Tie the boat to the dock and have fun.

But there was something always missing, something I was yet to do. I had never caught a really big fish, nothing truly impressive. I had fought many big fish, but they somehow got all away one way or another. As time passed and I grew older I lost the interest to go fishing and started doing other things. That was sort of a bonding time I stopped doing with my dad. I began surfing and hanging out with my friends and I stopped asking him to go fishing.

But lately I regained that curiosity for fishing, I started going with my friends and I still had the knowledge and the ability for good fishing. We started getting all typed of fish in many different conditions, but still nothing extraordinary. I think we didn’t have the right equipment for what we were trying. We needed a bigger boat for the rough seas miles away from the coast and a larger gas tank, better fishing rods for heavier fish and a decent set of baits. We had everything, we just needed an upgrade if we wanted to really catch something.

One day a friend and I were hanging out at a party and we spotted a friend of ours from high school, he is currently studying in the US but he was in Puerto Rico on his Christmas break. We started talking about what we have been doing and when we mentioned we had been fishing he instantly got very interested. He said he has wanted to go, since he has always liked to do water sports like us, and we told him “any time”. We remembered he had a very nice boat; we asked him if we could go in it and he was pumped. His boat is just the perfect size with all the little gadgets and toys. We planned a good day to go fishing, and that was it.
